A PIONEERING project set up in the Dearne area is going strong a year after being set up.

The hourbank scheme sees people give an hour’s worth of their time to someone and in exchange they get an hour of someone else’s.

For example, if you were decent at woodwork you could pass on some skills in that field and in exchange get an hour-long lesson in speaking French.

You put an hour in and you get an hour back and it helps skills be taught for nothing.

Gill Richmond, who helps run the scheme in Goldthorpe, said: “It is getting bigger and bigger and the local community has really taken us to their hearts.”
