JOE Guest has been told he will likely be scarred for life after a stranger punched him the face an indiscriminate attack, splitting his lip in two.

The 27-year-old underwent surgery at Barnsley Hospital to stitch his lip back together following the attack, which happened while he was drinking with friends at a pub on Wellington Street in Barnsley town centre.

Joe, of Shafton, told the Chronicle he was standing with his mates in Chennells bar on April 2 when - out of nowhere - someone came at him from behind and hit him.

Joe is now appealing to the public to help track down his assailant and bring them to justice.
