A 400-YEAR-OLD listed building is falling down and at risk of being lost forever according to a businessman who says he wants to step in and save it.

Worsbrough Hall is a grade II listed building, the oldest part of which is 400 years old. But this oldest part especially is in a poor state of repair and a temporary scaffolding roof was erected several years ago to try and keep rain from getting in.

Businessman Colin Beech wants to develop the land he owns surrounding the hall and says Barnsley Council did start enforcement action to force the owners to perform repairs, but is now ignoring the problem and ‘failing to follow up what they started’.
