A SCULPTURE outside Barnsley Town Hall dubbed ‘the nit comb’ is here to stay a little longer.

Barnsley Council has signed an extension with Yorkshire Sculpture Park to keep the rusting steel sculpture - proper name Crossing (Vertical) - by Nigel Hall.

It is the second time the council has extended its loan for the striking 33 ft £1.5m artwork, which was installed in May 2013.

A council spokeswoman said the extension is until September next year.
