BUSINESS owners in Goldthorpe have come together in an attempt to save what is being described as a “dying town”.
Goldthorpe Business Forum is a group of business owners in the town who are coming together with ideas as to how they can help promote shopping locally to increase footfall and get more people in the centre again.
A central part of the idea is to help promote the identity of Goldthorpe and a large number of flags have been put up around the village.
The flags feature a replica of the stained glass window at Goldthorpe Parish Church which commemorates the miners and their communities from the former pits at Barnburgh, Goldthorpe, Highgate and Hickleton.
