TEENAGER Luke Banks holds down a full time job, studies at university and is learning Japanese over the internet.
Now, Luke, 19, is to spend a month in Tokyo brushing up on his language skills. He has been teaching himself the basics of Japanese over the internet but hopes a visit to the country will provide a boost to his studies.
Luke, of Bronte Close, Monk Bretton is also completing a course at the Open University and has been working at Cash Convertors to fund the trip.
He said: "It is going to be a culture shock but I'm looking forward to meeting the people and experiencing the lifestyle. A lot of Japanese companies are big in the UK so I'm hoping it will be good for my career."
Mum Karen Banks added: "We're really proud of him. There are not many 19 year-olds who could hold down a full time job, study for an open university degree and learn Japanese at the same time."
