A CELEBRATED drama group fears it could be curtains unless it finds new members to help run the society.
Tankersley Dramatic Society has entertained the community for more than 70 years but dwindling numbers mean it may be forced to close.
Raymond Norris, 85, of Cloughfield Road has been a member of the group since 1940. He said: “I am reaching the end of my life now but I would hate to see it close. It would be a massive shame if it stopped after all these years.
“There has been a general decline as most of the members have got old you see. We can’t get the youngsters to join unfortunately. If only they knew the enjoyment you get from it.”
