CANNON Hall Museum could see a major transformation if an extensive programme of works is given the go ahead by planning bosses.

An application has been submitted to the council by Lynn Dunning, the council’s arts, museums and archives manager, after it secured £2.8m from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Big Lottery Fund for the conservation of the buildings, surrounding parklands and lakes.

But one of the core requirements of the funding is gaining planning consent.
