DODWORTH residents had a lucky escape when a shed fire spread across to their adjoining home on Monday night.

It reached the windows of the Water Royd Drive house but fire-fighters from Barnsley station managed to stop the flames before they took hold.

Three adults were in the house and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
