A MUM, who is thankful nobody was killed or injured when a 100ft tree came crashing down into her garden, is furious that nobody seems to be helping her pay for the damage.

Kirsty Smith said her partner Michael Blackley was very lucky not to have been hurt when the huge ash tree which stood in the grounds of Kendray Hospital crashed down in her garden.

It happened a couple of weeks ago but since then Kirsty has been trying to find out who she needs to speak to at the NHS to sort out the damage.

“After the tree came down there were people from the hospital there in minutes cutting it up. They had NHS logos on their uniforms.

“As far as I was concerned it would all be sorted. But only this week they’ve told me they’ll pay for the damage to the fence, but nothing more.”
