THE Police, RAF and Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team were all called deployed to help save the life of a lost walker stranded near Langsett amid the snow storm on Tuesday night.
The man, 77, raised the alarm via mobile phone after getting into difficulty.
The six-hour rescue mission involved the man being quizzed over the phone by Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team members with expert local knowledge of the moorland to pinpoint his most likely position.
