A TEENAGER is galloping up the rankings after becoming supreme champion in a horse riding competition.
Amy Geraghty, 15, of Vernon Street, Hoyland won the title at the Kimberworth championships on August 26.
Mum Josie, 56, said she was lucky to compete after her pony ‘Storm’ picked up a nasty injury just weeks before.
She said: “Storm cut her bum on barbed wire about three weeks ago so the bank holiday and Sunday were her first shows back.
“It has healed and she has done really well since, especially as she's only been showing since May.”
And the trophy is just the latest accolade in what has been a summer of success for the Kirk Balk pupil. Now Amy will travel farther afield when she takes part in the Royal London at Grantham on September 21.
