MASSIVE public reaction to a giant warehouse in Hoyland could stop other industrial planning applications getting the go-ahead, according to a developer.

Nicholas Gardner, of Gladman Homes Ltd, believes the council will turn down their latest application for a large warehouse and two industrial units on the Wentworth Industrial Park to avoid the outcry caused by 68ft high warehouse built on the Ashroyd Business Park in January. Hundreds protested.

Mr Gardner said: “We are expecting another refusal from the council.

“There are a lot of residents that aren't happy with the plans and the council had a lot of bad press with the warehouse on the Doncaster bypass.

“That seems to be effecting our application to be honest.”

But Tankersley parish councillors have appealed for residents to continue fighting the plans which they say would dominate their village.

Parish council chairman Helen Reckless said it was essential residents continue to back their opposition.
