A PENSIONER who has hosted the Macmillan coffee morning for more than a decade after being diagnosed with cancer is encouraging others to take part.
Mavis Berry, 72, of Harborough Hills, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998, and has hosted the coffee mornings with her friend and neighbour Margaret Dunstone.
She now wants other people in Barnsley to sign up to the fundraiser on September 29.
Mavis said: “Everyone is touched by cancer, locally it feels like everyone is getting cancer at the moment.”
