DARREN Akeroyd, who is paralysed from the waist down, blames the council for making him a prisoner in his own home.
Darren, 22, of Bluebell Road, Woolley Colliery, has been 'trapped' in his bedroom for six months because he is unable to negotiate his stairs.
He cannot even go to the bathroom because it is too small to fit a wheelchair inside.
Throughout his illness, Darren has been asking the council and Berneslai Homes to move him to a more suitable house.
He has made 40 unsuccessful applications for suitable homes since July.
Darren has also asked for a stairlift to be fitted and for his doors to be widened, but has been turned down.
He said Berneslai Homes staff now refuse to speak to him and have told him not to phone them any more because he has called to complain so many times.
