THE council wants to create nine cycling routes across the borough to encourage people to get out of their cars.
It will cost about £350,000 to turn the proposal into reality but the authority does not yet have any firm plans on how to raise the money.
A council spokesman said applications for external grants would be made and some of the funding would come from the Local Transport Plan allocation, although the scheme will have to compete against other priorities for the cash.
