TALENTED Catherine Rannus wants to help young Barnsley singers hit the big time by writing songs for them.
Catherine, 28, has been a full time professional musician for eight years and has a library of about 40 songs. She is recording an album and still hopes to have a number one hit of her own. But she has branched out to write songs for others.
Catherine, of Snow Hill, Dodworth, said: "There are a lot of good singers in Barnsley who want original material, but don't write their own."
Catherine hopes young hopefuls may take up some of her pop songs and jazzy numbers.
Eloise Short will use some of her work at the Potting Shed in Silkstone on May 31. Catherine, who teaches piano, saxophone, flute and singing, is a regular solo artiste at Brooklands restaurant and at the Three Acres at Emley.
She also has a seven-piece function band, 'Streetlight'.
