THREE brickies from Barnsley College have won top awards at regional heats of a SkillBuild competition.
Craig Bray won first place in the new entrant bricklaying category and Brendon Briggs and Scott Smith were given second and third place in the senior bricklaying section.
They were tested for skill, accuracy and practical knowledge in their fields.
Craig said: "Although we were given a challenging brief the competition gave me an opportunity to test the skills I have learnt during my apprenticeship. I was looking forward to taking part, but I didn't expect to walk away with a medal.
"I think the SkillBuild competition is a great event, it has boosted my confidence and really encouraged me to keep developing my skills and career.”
