UNLUCKY Callum Brooke has had his bike stolen for the third time this year.
The 10-year-old was reduced to tears when his mum told him on Tuesday morning.
Thieves smashed through the garden fence at the family’s Mellor Road home in Wombwell and moved two bins full of soil to get to the £120 BMX - a birthday present a few weeks ago.
The thieves also stole two bikes belonging to his older brother and sister.
The first of Callum’s bikes was stolen in January by thieves early in the morning. His parents bought a replacement but that was taken a couple of months later.
Mum Andrea said Callum rides his bike everyday.
“He’s always on it and was crying when I told him it had gone this week. We’re getting really fed up and it’s not fair that they keep picking on the same lad.
“It’s a bit scary to think that they are watching him get a new bike and then plotting to steal it - it’s disgusting.”
She said the family would tighten their security following the latest incident.
“We’re going to have to keep the bikes in the house before long. We already put big bins of soil in front of the gates to stop people getting in but they managed to move them.
“We’ll have to build a bigger fence and put a lock on it. His latest bike was quite unusual and had full black wheels so hopefully someone will see it and hand it back in.”
