CLEANING on Barnsley hospital wards, operating theatres and other departments has been heavily criticised in an inspection report leaked to the Chronicle.
The independent audit described sanitation in the A and E as 'very poor', scoring just 48 out of 100, and said the cleanliness of several wards was substandard.
A hospital spokesman said the problems highlighted had been dealt with immediately.
