A BARNSLEY brass band struggled to keep their instruments on their lips when they gave a concert on a river ferry in Germany.
Members of the Barnsley Metropolitan Band were on the top deck entertaining passengers and crew on other ships as well as hundreds of residents and tourists on the banks of the river Mosel.
But they found it hard to hold their instruments steady when the boat bumped into the sides of a huge lock, and collided with three other boats all rising at the same time.
Conductor Alex Francis said: "It's definitely one of the most unusual concerts I've done. You could hear the sound echoing off the hills down the valley. But I nearly fell over at one point when we bumped into the side of the lock. The band did well to keep playing.
