JUMP Primary school has received £109,000 from the government to improve existing building and sites.
Headteacher Joe Wilkinson, said: "Because new primary schools have been opened in the area it has reduced the waiting list for improvements on the remaining schools.
"We are very glad that the funding has come to us now and are looking forward to having work done on the school as soon as possible."
Improvements will include extensions to the play area for the foundation stage which at the moment do not meet national requirements.
There will also be a new entrance and offices built, a staff room and a room for children with special needs. Work will hopefully start in January.
