A LANDLADY will use Little Britain star David Walliams as her inspiration as she tries to swim the equivalent of crossing the English Channel.
She will do the breast stroke for 22 miles - the distance between Dover and Calais - in a heated swimming pool.
Racheal Jenkins, of the Queen Vic, Darfield, will share the 2,046 length swim with friend and colleague Sarah Taylor.
She said: "My pub's charity is the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. Over the years, we have raised more than £5,000 for it.
"I wanted to do something slightly different this time and, because I swim regularly, I thought it would be a difficult but achievable challenge."
The women aim to swim 86 lengths per hour over 12 hours.
She said: "If I thought I could swim the channel I would, but the thought of that scares me.
"We will be doing the swim in the new year and hope as many people as possible will sponsor us for a very worthy cause."
