FOLLOWING a request for old photographs of the Worsbrough Common area, the Rising Stars Children's Centre has received two photographs of pupils who attended Worsbrough Common J & I School in the mid-1940s.
They were taken when Laurence Naylor was headmaster, prior to his moving to Hunningley Lane Junior School, Stairfoot.
The children were taken on walks in the Worsbrough countryside by Mr Naylor and other staff members and it's believed the photographs were taken in 1947 on one of these occasions.
The Rising Star Children's Centre, based at Worsbrough Common Primary School, is hoping to put on an exhibition in the school's reception area in the not too distant future of old photographs and memories of events which have taken place in the area over the years. They include such events as house parties, trips, local buildings and children playing etc.
