CHEAP drinks promotions in town centre pubs and clubs could soon end with the introduction of a bylaw.
The move is backed by police and the council and would prevent price wars with pubs staging 'all-you-can-drink' offers.
Ch Supt Andy Brooke said the force had become increasingly concerned by the effects of cheap drinks promotions and were looking for better ways of controlling them.
An extraordinary Pubwatch meeting was called yesterday to discuss licensees' concerns over the increase in violent crime.
