FIRE-FIGHTERS have announced they will be on strike from Monday night for 24 hours, with a second strike planned four days later.
They will walk out at 6pm on Monday, and again at 6pm on the following Friday (October 23) for a further 24 hours.
The strikes are in response to the fire authority's refusal to withdraw dismissal notices served on 744 fire-fighters.
It is part of an ongoing dispute over changes to shift start and finish times which fire-fighters call unfriendly to families.
