A FARMER said fly-tippers were endangering wildlife and destroying the environment by dumping their waste on his land.

Tim Elmhirst, 53, of Haverlands Lane, Worsbrough, has had an ongoing problem with illegal waste dumping but said it was getting worse as landfill taxes rose.

The crop farmer said he had to pay for it to be removed as the council was not responsible for private property.

"It's a real problem for farmers living in a suburban environment," he said.

"I have been farming around here since I was 13 and we've always had problem but I worry it's only going to get worse with the cost involved with the new tipping regulations."
