A GRANDMOTHER whose annual Christmas light displays have raised thousands for charity stored illegal cigarettes next to the decorations kept in her loft and garage.

Noreen Turner, 64, allegedly stored hundreds of thousands of the cigarettes for her daughter, Jennifer Saunders, to sell on.

Police also found £14,030 in cash, £1,000 of amphetamine and a small amount of cannabis at Turner’s pensioner’s bungalow on Hill Crest, Hoyland.

The mother and daughter denied being part of an illegal cigarette scheme when they appeared before Sheffield Crown Court.

The trial continues.
