A HEDGEHOG found weighing little more than an egg has been nursed back to full health by a Mapplewell teacher.

Humphrey the hedgehog, a name given to him by saviour Deborah Robinson because of the ‘humph humph’ noise he makes when eating, was found wandering down a street during the day in Mapplewell.

Deborah said: “On the last day of term one of my pupils arrived in school armed with a small cardboard box. Grinning she said ‘this is George, he’s got some food and a towel’ and I opened the lid to find the tiniest hedgehog.”
