BABY Lexi Ann puts Santa’s arrival down the chimney to shame - she came into the world via the passenger seat of a Vauxhall Astra.
The baby girl was born in September and now mum Amy Oates is looking forward to her daughter’s first Christmas.
Amy, of Barber Street, Hoyland, said: “We still talk about when she was born because it’s really funny. She’s a brilliant baby and I’m lucky to have her.â€
Lexi Ann had to be delivered in the car on the way to hospital by Amy’s family friend ‘Auntie’ Ann Hough. Ann’s husband, Allan, wrapped the baby in his shirt and they then made their way to hospital along with Amy’s boyfriend Darren Saunders, 20, and mum Wendy Peet.
Now Lexi Ann, who is named after the woman who delivered her, has settled into life at home and is getting to know her big brother, Greenfield primary pupil Calum, three.
“He is very protective of her and he loves her,†said Amy, 19.
“I’ve got my boy and my girl now so I’m really happy.â€
“We’re going to have a great Christmas.â€
