Strapped in and ready to go, there is little talk between us.

The metal ball which we are securely fastened into rises two metres and hangs there for about ten seconds.

Suddenly, a man is counting down the seconds to our inevitable take off. And then it comes.

We are shot about 300 feet into the air a hitting 60 miles per hour in less than a second. There is a lurch in the pit of the stomach, the sensation of moving at such amazing speed and the adrenaline rush is superb.

We move so fast, one minute you can see the ground, then houses, then fields and then they become sort of mashed together. The next minute, we're hurtling towards the ground at what seems like 100 miles an hour and bounce straight back up, all the while spinning like a washing machine drum.

It's all over in a matter of minutes and once the bungee cords subside, we're left bobbing up and down until we're lowered to the ground.
