A YOUNG boxer from Barnsley Boxing Academy fought competitively for the first time last week.
Frankie Cooper, 12, travelled to Newcastle-under-Lyme and boxed Lucy Moore (One Bomb ABC) in front of her home crowd.
Trainer Stephen Harford said: “Not only did she give away age weight and experience she turned up in front of hundreds of home fans, roaring the other girl’s name, to keep composure and showed true Barnsley never give in attitude and put in a performance Callum Simpson would have been proud of and won unanimously.
