ATHERSLEY Rec are due to play in the Sheffield Sunday Cup final on Sunday and are almost certain to win the Barnsley Sunday Premier League too.

Rec are in the final against AFP Pewter Pot at the Olympic Legacy Park in Sheffield from 3pm.

Athersley won 10-0 at Cobcar last Thursday to go from fourth to top in their league, ahead of Caulfield on goal difference. The top two then met on Sunday and Rec won 3-1, leaving them three points clear.

Rec have finished their league games but Caulfield have one match left against Cobcar on Sunday.

They would need to win by 15 goals to draw level with Athersley.

Against Cobcar, there were two goals for Keelan Wilson, Kane Reece, Kyle Warden and Connor Peace with Matthew Love and Kaz Patterson also netting.

The Cottage beat West Bretton 3-1 in the Supplementary Cup final.

Zach Whitfield scored twice and Callum Walton once.

Williams Bar and Pogmoor meet in a Championship title decider on Sunday.

Williams Bar are three points clear at the top but whoever wins will finish first.

Williams Bar won 2-1 at Worsbrough Common on Sunday. They then won 4-1 at New Lodge on Wednesday while Pogmoor lost 4-3 at The Cottage.

The Cottage beat West Bretton 8-0.

Sam Beard scored five with Jamie Oliver also netting.

The Sun Inn won 2-1 at Market in Division One. There were 5-2 wins for Shaw Inn at home to Common Miners and Darton Tap at Thurlstone.
