BARNSLEY MPs Dan Jarvis and Stephanie Peacock have thrown their support behind a local dementia charity.
BIADS has supported a number of people from across the area, however they are looking for support to ensure that they are able to continue to carry out the work that they have been doing for people across Barnsley for the long-term future.
Barnsley North MP Dan said: “Sadly, many in our town are all too familiar with the profoundly painful experience of witnessing the decline of somebody they love with dementia.”
“BIADS do extremely important work to support these people, and I’m determined to support them in return by working closely with the council to ensure that they can be put on a long-term sustainable footing for the future.”
Stephanie added: “As the MP for Barnsley South, I am proud to be patron of BIADS.
“They do fantastic work for people across the community who are experiencing dementia, as well as supporting families with loved ones.
“I have been pleased to visit them more than once in the last couple of months.
“I know how much the work that staff and volunteers at BIADS mean to families, and it is really important that they have access to the support they need to continue to support families for many years to come.
“BIADS has my full support, and I will do whatever I can to secure the help they need so that they can continue the meaningful work that they do.”
