Barnsley have moved on to other targets after a long-running attempt to bring in Josh Koroma.

As reported in last week’s Chronicle, the 26-year-old former Huddersfield winger was at Oakwell earlier in the month with a deal thought to be highly likely.

Koroma would have been one of the highest earners at the club but, after an attempt to change elements of the deal late on, the deal broke down and he is reportedly likely to move elsewhere.

Meanwhile, the Reds have announced contracts for a series of under 21s players.

Aston Ellard and Kingston Simbai, who were both on trial last season, have joined along with Ben Jordison and Nathan Willis after leaving Burnley and Blackburn respectively.

They have also extended the deals of Bayley McCann, Ziggy Kozluk, Aaron Atkinson, Luke Alker and Tom Senior.
