BARNSLEY Harriers hosted the second Silkstone Shuffle of the series with Barnsley AC’s Vicky Shaw finishing as second woman in a time of 33-21.

Helen Morgan was third woman in 34-17 while Chris McNicholas took the first over60 men’s prize with a time of 33-59.

James Mumford led the charge for Penistone Footpath Runners, finishing second overall and claiming first in the over40 category with a time of 29-21.

In the men’s over50s, Ian Neville ran strongly to take second place in 32-34, followed closely by James Pierce, who secured third in the same category in 33-11.

Rachael Mayston clocked 34-57 to finish second in the over50s women’s category while Loida Lopez followed as third in the category with 40-04.

Barbara Haigh claimed first in the over70 women’s category, crossing the line in 51-08.

In the men’s over60s, Stuart Woodhead earned second place in 42-05, and Stu Smith took third in 45-46.

Susan Hall also made the over60 podium, finishing third in 49-21.

Lisa Clarkson was the first Harrier back and fourth woman overall.

Adam Lawrenson was first male Harrier back in his first time at the Shuffle.

Deborah Wilson finished as first over60 while John Hewitt was first over80.

Harrier Lee MacDonald was in the Lake District at the Montane Lakeland 50 – considered one of the greatest ultra trail challenges in Europe.

It is run over the second half of the Lakeland 100 Ultra Tour of the Lake District.

Lee finished in 422nd place with a time of 13-31-51.

At the Wharncliffe Woods 10k, Penistone’s Phil Hinchliffe was first back for the club with 48-02, finishing second in the men’s over50 category.

At the 28.5k Holme Moss Fell Race on Sunday, Penistone’s Chris Hodgson, Jon Hallam and James Pierce all completed the demanding course.

It included more than 1,280 metres of climbing across remote and exposed moorland.

The inaugural South Cave 10k took place on Sunday, drawing more than 600 runners.

Penistone’s Peter Beever finished in 46-47, with Kelvin Bowskill following in 56-54.
