A CANNABIS farm has been found in Goldthorpe by police officers.
On Sunday, August 10, at around 10pm, the force’s control room received a call reporting suspicious activity on Doncaster Road.
The caller stated that they suspected a man, who was wearing a face covering, had broken into a neighbour’s property.
Officers responded and could see the back door to the property was open, and they suspected that a burglary had occurred.
Investigating further, officers entered the property and located a small cannabis grow in the basement, as well as some cannabis being dried and prepped for distribution in a different room.
Barnsley South East’s Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant Paul Aston said: “Many people may think that growing cannabis is a low level crime, but in reality, it is closely linked to serious organised crime, which often brings violence to our local communities.
“No-one should be subjected to this and we will continue to work to combat drug supply in our areas.”
Nobody has been arrested yet.
