But it is not the war film 'Fourteen Days', which the Chronicle revealed he was writing in January. It is a romantic comedy set in London.
Shaun added: "I can't say too much, but it's my first feature film and I'm very excited.
"Cannes was amazing, I went as a writer and the film was picked up within three hours of landing."
He sent the film out to several people and set up meetings.
He added: "You go to Cannes to meet English producers, that's the reason for being there, to create work and make things happen."
I love the film festival, it's the fourth time I've been.
"I saw Sean Penn while I was there and he is one of my favourite actors. He was about 20 yards away and I was a bit starstruck. There were lots of famous people around."
Shaun also presented an award at the Bafta award ceremony a couple of weeks ago.
He said he felt privileged to present the award for Best Writer to Steven Moffat for the BBC series Sherlock.
