A POLICE appeal has been launched following a collision with a bus and a car in Ardsley.

At 1.20pm on Saturday, officers were called to Doncaster Road following reports of a collision between a red Ford Fiesta and a single decker Stagecoach bus.

It is reported the vehicles had been travelling in opposite directions on the road when they collided.

The driver of the Fiesta, an 18-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

A police spokesperson said: “An investigation is ongoing and we would now like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant dash cam footage.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the vehicles being driven in the lead up to the collision.

“Anyone with information is being asked to call us on 101, quoting incident number 444 of August 16.”
