STAFF at a town centre cake shop have come together and made a ‘boob-themed’ dessert to raise money for Barnsley Hospital’s Breast Care Appeal.

All the profits from the item at Dolly’s Desserts will go to the hospital’s appeal.

The bake is part of a baking fundraiser launched this week by charity - the Great Barnsley Hospital Bake off - Bake a Boob initiative is a meaningful way to support local NHS breast care services.

Participants are encouraged to sign up to get involved at their workplace, school or with family and friends to raise funds through bake sales, coffee mornings, or friendly baking competitions.

Charlie Smark, director at Dolly’s Desserts, said: “We wanted to get involved because breast cancer affects so many lives - our customers, our families, our friends.

“This was a fun way to raise awareness while doing what we love: baking. We’re proud to support such an important cause.”

Jane Mills, charity development manager at Barnsley Hospital Charity, added: “We’re so grateful to Charlie and the fantastic team at Dolly’s for going above and beyond with their bakes - they will help spark important conversations about breast care, all while raising much-needed funds.

“It’s support like this that helps make a real difference to patients and families in Barnsley.”
