A MATHEMATICS whizz who is just eight years old has become part of an exclusive club - having beaten off competition from thousands of youngsters from across the globe.
Adhrit Alluri is now an International Maths Olympiad winner following a competition last month.
Run by the British Youth International College (BYITC), Adhrit had to answer 50 questions within one hour.
His parents, Naga Srikanth Alluri and Rashi Saxena, said: “Before joining BYITC, maths used to make our child nervous.
“Now, he sees it as a challenge he can conquer.
“The teachers’ encouragement and step-by-step guidance have made all the difference.”
BYITC’s founder, Dr Rashmi Mantri, added: “Every child who took part deserves enormous credit as we can tell they gave it their best shot and worked very hard.
“The sheer scale of entries from across the globe is very satisfying and give us confidence that there is a huge hunger out there for learning more about - and getting lots of fun from - numbers.
“Competitions like this prepare them for higher levels of assessments and exams as they go through their educational journey as they worked on time management and enhance their problem-solving skills.”
