ADAM Phillips is ‘touch and go’ for Barnsley’s weekend match with Rotherham while Georgie Gent could return the following week.
Phillips was withdrawn from the midweek EFL Trophy game with a minor leg injury having been fouled for a penalty.
Head coach Conor Hourihane said: “There is nothing major, we’re just up against time for this game.
“I am not worried about him being out for two or three weeks. That won’t be the case at all.
“It will be touch and go for the weekend but he’s definitely in real contention for it.”
Left-back Georgie Gent has been out for seven months with an Achilles injury.
Hourihane said: “Georgie has been on the grass for a couple of weeks and there was a potential maybe of him being involved on Tuesday night but it just came a little bit too soon.
“He’s come back from a really long and difficult injury.
“For the sake of an extra five or six or seven days on the grass, it wasn’t worthwhile.
“He’s very, very close. I think maybe pinpointing a game for his return, if things continue to go well for him, maybe that York FA Cup game.”
Tennai Watson came off with a hamstring problem at Bradford on Saturday while Luca Connell also picked up a minor knock in that game. But Hourihane said they had both recovered.
