CALLUM Simpson showed his humility this week as he spread Christmas cheer to patients at Barnsley Hospital just days after losing his boxing titles.
He spent Monday with patients and staff on the children’s ward and on ward 19.
He came with presents and signed posters to ensure all those he met were able to have some Christmas cheer despite being in hospital.
A spokesperson said: “His visit brought so much excitement and joy to the children on our paediatric ward - a real lift at a time of year when it means the most.
“Callum also arrived with an amazing collection of donations, including PlayStation games, chocolate, signed posters and more, along with generous gifts from the local community.
“These treats and surprises meant the world to our young patients and their families.
“He even took time to sit down and have a game on the PlayStation with patient Megan Wanless - a moment she absolutely loved.
“His warmth was felt on ward 19 too, where patients and colleagues truly appreciated the time you spent chatting, listening and lifting spirits.
“Thank you, Callum, for your kindness, generosity and the positivity you brought to our hospital.
“You made a real difference.”
