OLIVER Rowland will continue his defence of the Formula E title in Miami this weekend.

The Penistone man, 32, has made a strong start to the season after winning the title for the first time last year.

He finished second in the opening race in Brazil last month then third in Mexico City earlier this month.

Rowland is currently third, six points off top. The third event is in Miami with practice on Friday then qualifying and the race on Saturday.

Rowland said: “Taking podiums in the opening two races has been a great way to start the season.

“The grid has proven to be incredibly competitive, so staying consistent will be really important at this stage.

“It’s a relatively short lap, which will bring its own challenges, and we’re expecting a much different race compared to São Paulo and Mexico City, with less energy saving.

“We’re hoping to make a step forward in qualifying, as overtaking is likely to be more difficult, and I’ll be aiming for the podium on Saturday.”
