CONOR Hourihane described Barnsley’s 3-3 draw with Wimbledon as bizarre after his side let a two goal lead slip.
Omar Bugiel struck twice in three minutes in the first half to cancel out David McGoldrick and Tom Bradshaw's goals, before Marcus Browne thought he’d given his side all three points only for Scott Banks to level it late on.
Hourihane said: ““It was another rollercoaster game that we’re always involved in.
“We started the game really well and then gave two poor goals away.
“Then they went 3-2 up off the back of another poor goal.
“And then we ended up getting a draw out of it, which is bizarre thinking about just getting a draw after the first 20-odd minutes or so.
“Because we can't talk about our amazing attacking play because it doesn't get highlighted enough because people go on about the goals conceded - and I get it.
“So it’s frustrating.”
Hourihane praised both McGoldrick and Bradshaw for their goals.
He told the Chronicle: “This week we've got three games.
“Obviously, Wimbledon, Peterborough and Huddersfield.
“But, I really felt today was the game to be able to play the both of them.
“You know, Wimbledon are a back five and they don't probably deal with two strikers up the top of the pitch a lot.
“Whereas, Peterborough would be a lot more of an expansive game and they'd like to try and keep the ball.
“Obviously it's great that they both scored because from an attacking point of view, then obviously that kind of worked.”
Cleary registered his ninth and tenth assists of the season in this game.
Hourihane said: “He's a part of our attacking output, you know.
“You know, we attack, we play really attacking style and play with wingers and it's exciting.
“How many goals have the season ticket holders seen this season?
“At least they've had their monies worked.”
Vimal Yoganathan was replaced on the bench by young Charlie Lennon.
“We don't have the biggest of squads, but we're fortunate enough at the minute that we've got no injuries really, bar Josh Earl.
“And it was just a fact of getting Charlie Lennon on the bench, experience being in the round of the team.”
