FORMER EFL goal machine Jordan Rhodes has joined Barnsley club Penistone Church as their ambassador.
Rhodes, who scored more than 200 goals in a prolific career for the likes of Blackburn, Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday as well as internationally for Scotland, retired in September to become the ‘loans manager’ at Blackburn.
The 36-year-old, who was a youth team player at Barnsley, had trained with Church last season and lives in the area.
He said: "I’m really pleased to be joining Penistone Church FC. Having already spent some time around the club, I know what a great set-up it is and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in and help wherever I can."
