CAWTHORNE are the only Barnsley club in the ECB Premier in 2026 following Barnsley Woolley’s relegation last season.

Cawthorne were in title contention for the first half of last season before falling away and finishing eighth.

They have brought in Pakistani fast bowler Naqeebullah, 23, who has just had a successful First Class season with WAPDA and was man of the match in the President’s Trophy final in February.

They have also signed Oliver Bennett from Barnsley as well as George Booth, Ikramullah Naseri, Ben Simpson and Kabir Kohli.

Yorkshire 2nd XI player Joseph Hayes, 17, has been a key member of the first team.

Captain Archie Greaves said: “We’re all looking forward to getting back out there and showcasing what we can do as a team.

“We’re looking to get the ball rolling with some important wins early on.

“Coming off the back of a successful start to the season last year, I’ve no doubt we can do the same this year but look to maintain it unlike at the back end of last year.

“I’m sure our key player Liam Wiles will showcase some outstanding innings as always.

“I’m looking forward to see our wicketkeeper Joseph Hayes perform as well, coming off the back of a winter with Yorkshire.

“Naqeebullah will be a joy to have in the team, offering his raw pace and talent up top.”
