Will Chapman scored a century as Barnsley Woolley Miners won their first ever game outside the top level of Yorkshire cricket.

The Shaw Laners beat Sheffield Collegiate 2nd XI by 109 runs at home in the South Yorkshire Championship.

Chapman hit 105 off 110 balls with 15 fours and four sixes while sharing an opening stand of 191 with Ali Zaryab who made 81 on debut in Barnsley’s 288 for six.

Elsecar beat Doncaster Town 2nd XI by ten runs. Callum Higgins (63) and Tanzeel Ali (71 not out) led Elsecar to 196 then Curtley Louw took three wickets.

Rockingham lost by two wickets at Upper Haugh. Sam Whitlam took five wickets.

Meanwhile, Cawthorne chased 162 for a two-wicket win at Whiston Parish Church with an over to spare in the Premier League.

Kabir Kohli took six wickets for 21 then Ikramullah Naseri made 88 not out with nine fours and two sixes.
