A TALENTED youngster is already building connections to support his dream of working in the entertainment industry.
Finley Clayton, aged ten, has been nominated for a Young Champions award for his impressively mature approach to celebrity journalism.
The Monk Bretton schoolboy has already ticked off interviewing his favourite star, Claudia Winkleman, from his bucket list with more to come soon.
Finley’s mum, Rachel, explained how her son’s passion for drama and acting have set him up perfectly to achieve his aspiration of working as an actor or a TV presenter in the future.
Most recently, Finley was victorious in his bid to become Heart Radio’s new ‘Showbiz Kid’.
Finley’s mum, Rachel, said: “He entered the competition and then he was contacted to say he was going to be a finalist.
“As part of that then he was asked to interview Amanda Holden on the breakfast programme.
“Following that they announced the winner on Friday and he was announced as a winner along with another girl.
She added: “He said that his favourite celebrity we would like to interview was Claudia Winkleman.
“She was on the show so he interviewed her as well.
“Claudia was lovely, she had loads of time for him.
“He asked her about The Traitors and her new talk show.
“He had a really positive experience.
“He takes everything in his stride and he has been really confident with it.
“Moving forward as the winner, him and the other little girl will go down to London and interview celebrities for Heart Radio.
“He’ll be travelling down to interview Hugh Jackman soon.”
Rachel also enthused about Finley’s passion and dedication, explaining how he is a ‘kind and genuinely good lad’ both inside and outside of his junior entertainment career.
She added: “I’m proud because Finley has always followed his dreams.
“He’s very hard-working and thrives in an entertainment environment.
“He’s so kind and considerate and he loves talking to everyone and learning their stories.
“He’s a genuinely good lad and everyone who has met him has loved him.
“Finley would love to end up as an actor or a TV presenter or just in the entertainment industry in general.”
