PENISTONE and Stocksbridge MP Marie Tidball recently met with the town’s very own Olympian Becky Moody.
The Gunthwaite woman thought her chances of reaching the top level may have gone.
But, after raising ‘Jagerbomb’, she won team bronze at the last Olympics then silver in the European Championships last year.
Ms Tidball recently spoke with Becky about her story.
Marie said: “One of the greatest privileges of this job is meeting incredibly talented local people, like Gunthwaite’s own Becky Moody, who won bronze in dressage at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
“Becky shared some incredibly moving stories about the impact horses can have beyond sport - from supporting young people through trauma and recovery, to the brilliant work of Riding for the Disabled.
“Becky is a shining example of someone who has stayed near and gone far - with her family-run equestrian centre, Moody Dressage, which she runs with her sister Hannah, right on our doorstep.
“From Gunthwaite to Grenoside, Penistone to Pogmoor, or Stocksbridge to Silkstone, it’s my job to represent you in our constituency and in Westminster.”
